The transition to more sustainable energy sources is a global priority today. In this sense, the construction of a multi-energy station in Les Sables-d'Olonne, in the Vendée department (85), is an innovative and promising project. This station, consisting of three canopies with a height of 7.5 m (24.5 ft) and a total length of 40 m (131 ft), represents a significant investment to promote low-carbon mobility and local green energy. GH Hervouet, a customer of Dlubal Software, was responsible for the entire project, including carpentry, roofing and cladding.
As part of the urban development of Metz, a new gymnasium is under construction, featuring advanced engineering techniques and a commitment to sustainability. The project combines LC spruce GL24h cross-beams, steel columns, and insulated concrete precast walls to ensure the stability of the structure. The timber roof structure serves as a support for the photovoltaic panels. BET Moselle Bois, a customer of Dlubal Software, was responsible for the structural analysis and design.
This project deals with structural evaluation against climatic loads and the utilization and seismic analysis of an existing telecommunications tower performed by SAQQARA INGENIERIA S.L., a customer of Dlubal Software. The structure is a lattice tower with a square section plan, made of steel cross-sections, with a radar and the necessary auxiliary equipment installed on it, including a spherical radome as a mimicry.
The building has a floor area of about 5,812 ft² and is intended for storage. The complex is divided into 10 different units, with common access from the inner courtyard, each equipped with a mezzanine for storing goods or equipment.
In June 2023, a roof of the amphitheater of the Municipal Theater in Most was successfully completed. The membrane structure has been specially designed to provide protection from the sun and rain above the stage, while making the entire space a visual attraction. The author of the design is Carl Stahl & spol.; the calculation was carried out using the programs RFEM 5 and RWIND 2.
At the end of April 2023, a new aviary was completed at the Sichuan Pavilion in the Prague Zoo. The aviary structure has a length of 14 m and a width of 10 m. The company Carl Stahl & spol. created the architectural and structural design, calculated in RFEM 5.
Madergia, a Spanish Dlubal Software customer, presents this beautiful project designed by ZÜR Studio, for which engineers were responsible with regard to the structural analysis, manufacturing, supply, and installation of the timber structure. It is a pergola roof with folded plates, placed in an open public space in the town of Anoeta.
The stand-alone program RWIND allowed Davide Prando (architect) and Marco Rota Nodari (engineer) to optimize the project, highlighting some critical locations on the buildings' surfaces, due to the high positive and negative pressure values encountered.
For many years, VM Architettura Integrata has been involved in the design of rainscreens for buildings of considerable size; in this particular case, the collaboration between Arch. Davide Prando and Eng. Marco Rota Nodari has enabled the further development of wind flow analyses, examining two towers with heights of about 393 ft and 295 ft (120 m and 90 m), respectively, in a digital wind tunnel.
This is a research and development project with the long-term goal to design a circular timber house that is energy-efficient and provides excellent living comfort using a rotation system according to the sun's position.
This project aims to rehabilitate, extend, and enhance the former Haras ice rink, located near the Château d'Angers, a castle in the city of Angers, belonging to the ABF sector (Architectes des Bâtiments de France). The aim is to create a modern sports facility that meets the needs of the local community while preserving the existing architectural heritage.
After its creation in 2022, the second edition of the Festival des Cabanes at the Villa Medici in Rome takes place from May 24 to October 1, 2023. Throughout the summer, it offers architects, artists, and people interested in art and culture the opportunity to visit the exhibition in the historic gardens of the Villa Medici. One of the seven cabin projects has benefited from the intervention of Atelier PoCo, a French customer of Dlubal Software, for its design and technical study.
Our client, Maderas Besteiro, was in charge of drafting this emblematic project (structural analysis and design), involving the manufacture of all pieces, a numerical control, subsequent treatment, and finally, assembly management.
The "Azerbaijan Pavilion" was an eye-catcher at Expo 2021 in Dubai. Simmetrico network and iDeas were responsible for the architecturally valuable design. Among other things, Dlubal customer Rubner Ingenieurholzbau created the structural analysis and design, and constructed the complex glued-laminated timber structure at its own site.
An 88.18-ton steel structure subjected to high thermal and mechanical stresses had an obsolete fastening system that no longer met the current ergonomic requirements. The study of a new fastening system was based on specifications that required significant ergonomic improvement, certified resistance to stress, low costs, low space requirements, and ease of implementation and operation.
In May 2022, the new Sky Bridge footbridge opened in the Dolní Morava area (Czech Republic); it is the longest footbridge in the world, with a length of 2,365.49 ft. The design and construction of the footbridge were carried out by TAROS NOVA a.s., and the structural analysis was performed in RFEM 5.
The SDEA Engineering Solutions Advanced Engineering department has extensive experience in mechanical-structural analysis using the finite element method for various structure types and equipment for different industrial sectors such as steel, metalworking, oil and gas, energy, railroads, and metallurgy, among others, as well as for the construction sector.
A modern 6-seater chairlift called sixpack Mooslehen opened in Filzmoos, Austria on December 17, 2021, right on time for the start of the ski season.
